Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-Up Unit and Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) signed a memorandum of cooperation (MoC) to support and enhance national efforts to achieve Oman Vision 2040.
The memorandum aims to develop the capabilities and experiences of those responsible of the implementation follow up of the programs and initiatives in all sectors.
The MoC was signed by Dr. Khamis Saif Al Jabri, Chairman of Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-Up Unit, and Steve Phimister, managing director of PDO. It includes cooperation in areas focusing on national priorities of Oman Vision 2040, especially the priorities of the current phase such as the inflation of the In-Country Value (ICV), enablement of green growth, transformation in the energy sector, addressing climate change and its impacts, supporting government’s efforts in developing the data system in order to serve its action plans, in addition to exchange of experience in communication and media.
Within this MoC, PDO will provide support for Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit and the related programs and initiatives in the areas covered by the memorandum. On the other hand, the Unit will follow up the implementation of the MoC and the provision of the required facilitation.
Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit works on signing MoCs with a number of government institutions and private sector enterprises, in order to create a working environment in the unit that keeps pace with its growing needs to fulfil its roles in pursuing the achievement of Oman Vision 2040 and to support national efforts to achieve its objectives.
